  • Ross Barnett Reservoir
    Madison County is home to this 33,000 acre reservoir that covers 40 parks and recreation areas and is conveniently located just east of the city of Madison. Madison real estate owners will find a host of activities to engage in including boating, water sports and fishing. The reservoir is well stocked so take your rod and reel and pull in a big catfish or a good-eating crappie. Besides water activities, you can go biking, hiking, take the family for a picnic, go camping at Timber Lake Campground, or meander along the nature trails and watch the wildlife. If you enjoy ‘birding' you'll want to be sure and bring your binoculars. There are many more nearby reservoirs including Culley Lake, Lake Caroline and Lake Castle where you can boat and fish.
